After recessing Tuesday’s voting session to continue the discussion about the Tesla development incentives on Wednesday, the Commissioners Court once again took no action on the matter. After hearing from two community members who supported the incentive deal, the commissioners went into executive session where they heard from the county’s legal department. When the public hearing on the subject reconvened, County Judge Sam Biscoe said, “We will have the matter back on the court’s agenda for action next Tuesday.” The Austin Monitor previously reported that the incentive deal will entitle the California-based electric car maker to $14.6 million in tax relief over the course of a decade. In exchange for the rebate, Tesla is promising to bring 5,000 jobs with salaries no less than $15 per hour, 65 percent of which will be unskilled labor.
