Travis County has issued a new burn ban for the unincorporated areas of the county. As Travis County Chief Fire Marshal Tony Callaway explained, “Even though we received some rain Monday, it wasn’t enough to make up for months of persistent dry conditions, and Travis County remains in extreme drought. With humidity levels dropping again, our wildfire danger is expected to increase. Implementing a new burn ban before the previous one was set to expire Wednesday helps us minimize fire risks and ensure our public’s safety.” The ban is set to expire Nov. 23.
