Those voting early in the Democratic runoff for Judge of the 299th District Court in Travis County favored Karen Sage with 57 percent of the vote to opponent Mindy Montford’s 42 percent. Sage had 2,375 votes more than Montford in the early vote—a fairly steep hill to climb in the judge’s race.
In the State Board of Education District 10 race, Republicans in both Travis and Williamson clearly favored Marsha Farney over Brian Russell to take on Democrat Judy Jennings in the fall. Russell had only about 1700 votes as compared to nearly 3500 for Farney in Williamson in early voting.
Travis County Republicans chose Farney by 57 to 42 percent.
In the race for the Republican nominee to face District 47 State Rep. Valinda Bolton in November, Paul Workman had the edge in early voting over opponent Holly Turner. Workman had 51.8 percent of the vote and Turner had 48.2 percent.
