In anticipation of downtown gridlock due to traffic generated by South by Southwest, the city has announced that both the Austin Municipal Court, at 700 E. Seventh St., and the Downtown Austin Community Court, at 719 E. Sixth St., will close today at noon. Any payments or appearances scheduled for today will be extended to Monday, March 14, according to an announcement from the city. However, anyone wishing to address an outstanding citation this afternoon may do so at one of two substations: Jaime Padron Substation, 12425 Lamplight Village Ave., or South Substation, 5700 Manchaca Road. They are both open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, but with “limited options and functionality.”
