Early voting numbers inched back up Thursday, with 29,324 people showing up at Travis County polls to cast ballots for the Nov. 8 election. Altogether, more than 45 percent of the county’s registered voters have now cast their ballots since early voting began on Oct. 24. The end is now in sight, with just hours, not days, left to vote ahead of Election Day. Voters who plan to cast ballots today can get info here on voting locations. By the way, anyone thinking about wearing one of those “Nasty Woman” T-shirts to the ballot box can forget about it. The same goes for a Trump hat or other campaign paraphernalia. That’s the word from Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir. DeBeauvoir, of course, is urging everyone who has not yet voted to get out and vote today. For those who wait, she said if people are standing in line to vote at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, they will be allowed to cast their ballots; however, that will slow down the counting process. She said she would be releasing the results of early voting shortly after 7 p.m. on Election Day. Tax Assessor-Collector Bruce Elfant said Thursday that 92 percent of eligible voters in Travis County have registered to vote.
