Publisher’s Note – Penny Pass
Friday, August 11, 2017 by Ashley Fisher
As you know, we operate on a subscription service. That is how we are able to pay our awesome reporters and bring you all the great coverage that we do. (To make it simple, the more subscriptions we have, the more coverage we are able to bring you.)
In March, we launched a test with Penny Pass – a new system that allowed non-subscribers to pay for individual articles. We had some confusion from our readers regarding this system, so as of today (Friday, Aug. 11), we will discontinue the use of that service. If you signed up with Penny Pass and have a balance – you will receive an individual email from us. If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
And, while I’m at it, a note about our subscriptions. Be aware (and tell your commissioner and do-gooder friends) that we have special rates for City of Austin Board and Commission and discounted rates for nonprofits. Email me for more info, or for concerns about the shift away from Penny Pass, at publisher@austinmonitor.com.
Thank you for being a loyal reader,
Ashley Fisher
