Austin Resource Recovery is considering expanding curbside pickup services for residential customers, and it is seeking input on the potential changes. The new services could include citywide collection of organics and weekly collection of recycling. According to a press release from Austin Resource Recovery, the expansion would increase monthly bills by an estimated $3 for recycling and $4 for organics (implemented gradually over five years). However, some people would save money by downsizing their trash carts. A shift from the 96-gallon to the 64-gallon cart would save $18 a month; a shift from the 64-gallon to the 32-gallon cart would save $5 a month. Community input meetings will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Parque Zaragoza Recreation Center, 2608 Gonzales St., and Tuesday, Feb. 9, at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road (Room 325). Both will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Customers can also submit comments online here.
