The city of Austin’s Center for Events is seeking public input on new ways to fund special events. The goal is to “bridge the gap between how much the City spends serving special events and fees paid by event producers,” according to an announcement from the city. To solicit feedback, the Center for Events will be hosting two meetings this month, on Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, both from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Asian American Resource Center, 8401 Cameron Road. Input collected at the meetings will help inform a report that will be presented to City Council “in the coming months.” Anyone planning to attend should RSVP to SpecialEvents@austintexas.gov.
