The city of Austin is hosting a second community engagement meeting to gather feedback on ideas for how special events should be funded. Comments from the first meeting, which took place on Feb. 10, have been organized and posted online. According to an announcement about the meetings, the goal is to “bridge the gap between how much the City spends serving special events and fees paid by event producers.” The second meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Asian American Resource Center, 8401 Cameron Road. Input from both meetings will help inform a report that will ultimately be presented to City Council.
