Due to a South Austin water main break, Austin Water has issued a “boil water” notice to residents of the Texas Oaks South neighborhood (south of Slaughter Lane, near Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park). According to AW’s announcement, any water used for drinking, cooking or making ice should first be “brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes” to eradicate harmful bacteria and microbes. AW will notify customers once the notice has been lifted.
