Even as the city of Austin has put much of its official business on hold for South by Southwest, reliable old Travis County continues to keep the light of governance on – barely. The Commissioners Court will meet for its regular voting session on Tuesday, but the proceedings are expected to be very quick. The weekly agenda was prepared to be as noncontroversial as possible so that the entire slate of items will pass on a single consent motion after the routine round of public communications from residents. County Judge Sarah Eckhardt won’t even be present, so Commissioner Margaret Gómez will gavel the session in and out. Die-hard fans of that hot, hot #TravCo action can take heart in the fact that the March 22 meeting is expected to be chock-full of rough and tumble excitement.
