As we reported earlier this week, the city is hosting an outdoor open house to unveil the proposed South Central Waterfront Plan. The event, which was to take place Saturday, has now been postponed by one day in hopes of avoiding inclement weather. The event caps off three years of stakeholder collaboration on the plan, which lays out recommendations for guiding development decisions along Lady Bird Lake’s south side over the next two decades. The plan will go before City Council in June. The public has been involved in the process through a series of free events, including informational talks and various interactive offerings, such as a photo safari, a downtown “walkshop” and “Walk and Draws.” The open house will be similarly family-friendly, with live music, a petting zoo, face painting and more. It will take place Sunday, May 1, noon to 5 p.m., at the Austin American-Statesman Bat Park. More details are available here.
