Composting posting

Next week, activists in Austin will be taking their cause to City Hall. That cause? Composting for all! Or at least for those with curbs. According to a press release, Texas Campaign for the Environment and allies will be gathering on Wednesday, May 18 at City Hall in an effort to reach the budget session within, where City Council members will be hearing a five-year forecast for the Austin Resource Recovery Department. In that same statement, Texas Campaign for the Environment Program Director Andrew Dobbs explained, “Austin has big visions for getting to Zero Waste and net zero climate gas emissions, and curbside composting is crucial for achieving both of those visions. … We are urging the Austin City Council to stay the course towards these visions and bring composting to all of Austin as soon as possible.”
