Austin Monitor Radio: 2016 transportation bond?
Tuesday, June 14, 2016 by Caleb Pritchard
Austin Monitor freelancer Caleb Pritchard hosts Austin Mayor Steve Adler’s communications director Jason Stanford for a conversation about a potential 2016 City of Austin transportation bond. Sponsored by Austin Water. Post is embedded below.
Clarification: At about 16 minutes and 30 seconds into the show, Stanford mentions that that city transportation staff had added up the total price tag of identified transportation projects currently needed in Austin. “I could be wrong, but I’m not that wrong,” he says before pegging the sum at “around $9 trillion.” Thankfully, Stanford was very wrong — no doubt an innocent mistake — and the actual figure is closer to $9.5 billion (still, a daunting amount).
