The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority has released its annual report, which takes stock of the services delivered in 2015 (“31 million rides system-wide”), summarizes Capital Metro’s major activities and initiatives (such as its work on a five-year plan) and provides financial information. In celebration of Capital Metro’s 30th anniversary, the report also includes a special section looking back over the authority’s “innovative advances” since 1985 (e.g., in the 1990s, Capital Metro was Texas’ first authority “to be 100% accessible to people with disabilities”). Lest that still not sound like the light reading folks are looking for, the report also has several photos of joyful people standing around, presumably waiting for buses, including one fellow sporting a bear mask, a tutu and a T-shirt that says, “Let’s get weird.” The report is available here.
