Traffic signal boxes along South First Street, between Elizabeth and Oltorf streets, have been given a makeover thanks to the city’s Art in Public Places TEMPO 2016 program, part of the Economic Development Department. Artists Christine Angelone and Alexander Bingham have not only transformed the boxes with colorful vinyl wraps, but they have created a story to go with each one. Passersby can call the phone numbers displayed on the boxes to hear the stories. The installation will be on display through Dec. 29, 2016.
