The Austin Independent School District on Monday finally put 10 of its properties up for sale, lease or other civic-minded proposals after trustees discussed the possibility in March. The details of the request for proposals and invitation for bids can be found here. A pre-bid conference open to all interested parties will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m., at the Allan Center cafeteria. Property tours are being scheduled beginning Oct. 20, and the deadline to submit offers will be Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. Questions about the process can be directed to James Sessions at james.sessions@austinisd.org. The 10 properties include a mix of structures and land scattered throughout Austin:
- Carruth Administration Center, 1111 W. Sixth St.
- Allan Center, 4900 Gonzalez St.
- Baker Center, 3908 Avenue B
- Millett Opera House (aka Austin Club), 110 E. Ninth St.
- 9.318 acres of land south of Alpine Road, adjacent to AISD Central Warehouse
- 1.234 acres of land at Doris Drive and Hathaway Drive
- 31.987 acres of land at the southwest corner of U.S. Highway 183 and Loyola Lane
- 12 acres of land on East 51st Street, adjacent to AISD Service Center
- 7.96 acres of land at the southeast corner of Tannehill Lane and Jackie Robinson Street
- 12.496 acres of land at 4806 Trail West Drive
