Austin Water customers who would like a say in the establishment of water and wastewater rates are encouraged to attend a meeting tonight of the Public Involvement Committee. The committee has been created to represent Austin Water’s retail customer classes – residential, multifamily, commercial and large volume – as the utility undergoes a cost-of-service study to determine how future costs will be established and allocated among classes. (Another committee, the Wholesale Involvement Committee, represents wholesale customers.) The meeting is one in a series that is being hosted by the utility as part of its public outreach effort. Tonight’s focus will be on “determining revenue requirements and an overview of the reclaimed water system,” according to the utility’s announcement about the event. The meeting, which begins at 4 p.m., will take place at Waller Creek Center, 625 E. 10th St., room 104.
