As part of Austin Design Week in November, a studio tour on Nov. 10 will be showcasing projects that are part of the city’s new Design, Technology, and Innovation Fellows Program. The idea behind the program is that fellows use their design skills to find creative solutions to civic problems. Right now, fellows are working on projects to improve the city’s permit process, redesign the web presence of the Austin Convention Center and better understand recycling and composting behaviors. All three projects will be part of the studio tour, which takes place at City Hall, from 3 to 5 p.m, and is free with registration. For more on the program, which is currently accepting applications for new fellows, information is available here.
