Starting in next year’s budget, the city will implement its new fee schedule for development services. The city hired Matrix Consultants to do a financial analysis of the Development Services Department last year, and this is the result of that work. According to a press release from last week, the new schedule “has been developed to achieve full cost of service recovery.” The new fee schedule will go into place on Oct. 1 of Fiscal Year 2017-18, and it will allow the department to improve service without impacting the General Fund. City Council is in the thick of budget season right now, with another work session dedicated to the subject on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
