As of next week, commuters between Austin and Round Rock will have a speedy new bus option. On Nov. 13, the Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority is launching MetroExpress Route 980, which will run 11 morning trips and 11 evening trips Monday through Friday. The buses will be able to use the tolled Express Lanes on the MoPac Expressway free of charge, thus avoiding rush-hour congestion. The service is available for the Commuter fare: $3.50 for one trip, $7 for a day pass (the usual discounts are available, which you can view here). Visit the Capital Metro website for more information, including park-and-ride locations.
