Forklift Danceworks is at it again, bringing the inner workings of the city to life, through dance. If these folks can choreograph trash trucks, then it’s no surprise they can leverage the talents of the city’s Aquatics Division staff into “a dance for a city pool and its people.” Directed by choreographer Allison Orr and associate choreographer Krissie Marty, “Dove Springs Swims” brings lifeguards, maintenance staff and Dove Springs residents together in a performance scored by Graham Reynolds, with production design by Stephen Pruitt. The effort is part of My Park, My Pool, My City, a collaboration between Forklift Danceworks and the Parks and Recreation Department. The show takes place at Dove Springs Pool, 5701 Ainez Dr., July 12-15, with the main performance beginning at 8:30 p.m. each night. The July 14 and 15 shows will kick off early, at 7:30 p.m., with entertainment from Cecilia + the Broken Hearts and Tiarra Girls.
