Austin Resource Recovery is apologizing for mailing postcards to 6,000 customers mistakenly notifying them about a February pickup date for curbside bulky item and brush collection. ARR’s automated customer notification system was to blame for the technical error, which was apparently caused by the implementation of a new scheduling tool. Ken Snipes, director of ARR, said in a press release, “We are looking into what caused the error to occur in order to prevent this from happening in the future. In the meantime, we are notifying the customers who received postcard notifications by mistake.” If you received one of the mistakenly sent postcards, you should not set out your bulky pickup items until the correctly scheduled date. To verify your pickup date, visit austintexas.gov/myschedule and enter your street address.
