Central Texas’ 2015 Memorial Weekend Floods swept through Austin on the night of May 24. More than 12 inches of rain fell in the watershed of the Blanco River, causing flash flooding that was most severe in Wimberley where up to 400 homes were destroyed, and San Marcos where one person was killed. At least 1,200 people in Central Texas were left homeless due to flooding.
