Closures you can depend on this Independence Day weekend
Friday, June 30, 2023 by Eric Webb
The city of Austin on Thursday announced closures for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Almost all of the city’s offices and facilities will be closed Tuesday. There a few notable exceptions, including:
- Parks and Recreation: City parks, playgrounds, tennis centers and golf courses will be open regular hours on Tuesday. Check the city’s website for specific pool hours.
- Austin Public Library: Though physical branches will be closed, you can still access remote library resources online.
- Recycling, Compost and Trash Collection: Curbside services will not be affected. The Recycle & Reuse Drop-off Center will be open by appointment only.
- Austin Public Health: Environmental Health Services at the Rutherford Lane Campus, Office of Vital Records, all WIC and Shots for Tots clinics, and Neighbor Centers will be closed Tuesday.
Visit the city website for more holiday hours info.
